Columbarium Details

As we move through our Circle of Life we began our lives in the
back of the church at the Baptismal font. Then we go on to spend our
lives within the church facing forward to the Altar of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ. How fitting to complete our existence here by
remaining on the church grounds where it all began.
From a personal perspective, there is great consolation in having
the remains of a loved one at rest near their church. Family and
friends can easily stop by for a prayer or meditation on their way
to or from Mass. From a practical perspective, a columbarium
represents a responsible use of parish land, and the cost is
reasonable to both the church and its parishioners.
The columbarium is constructed of granite, brick and
concrete and complements the design of the adjacent church and
school buildings. It is located outside the church just beyond
the Rose Window behind the Altar. The drawing on the previous page
depicts a completed section of the columbarium. The diagram above
identifies the placement of the columbarium on the church grounds.
Beginning in April 2006, columbarium niche orders have been
accepted on a “first-come, first-served” basis. The Prince of Peace
Columbarium is being fully funded through the sale of its niches. No
monies are being drawn from any church funds for either the building
of this project or for the perpetual care of its occupants.
