Youth Ministry is a mission of the whole church for youth, by youth, with youth,
and to youth. This mission is approached by programs and activities in several
distinct areas: catechesis, community life, evangelization, justice and service,
enablement, pastoral care and prayer and worship. These are both gathered and
non-gathered activities. Our goal is to provide the young people of Prince of
Peace with an experience of community and faith as vital members of the parish
family.

The Knights of Columbus (KofC)
is a Catholic men's fraternal organization that was formed to render service to
members, their families, their Church, the entire faith community, and their
Country. Aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members of
those groups whom the KofC serve. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted
among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, and
social works. Knights are practicing Catholic men, 18 years of age and older,
who are committed to making their community a better place, while supporting
their Church and each other.

Services, as well as volunteering at the Barons Ice Cream stand, making mission
rosaries and advent wreaths.

parishioners close to our faith family. By sharing the Body of Christ and

those who are unable to attend Mass feel that they remain a part of their Church
community. In turn, our Ministers feel blessed and relate seeing Jesus in these
people.

Spring 2010 Newsletter
The Prince
of Peace group was originally formed in the fall of 1999 by a few women, as a
support group, for mothers in the parish. It has grown to a remarkable 50
members. The purpose of M.O.M.S. is to welcome mothers into the parish and to
provide an opportunity for moms to gather for social, educational and spiritual
growth…and quite a bit of fun too!
M.O.M.S. is made up of women of varying ages and interests, with families of all
sizes and compiled of all ages. What we all have in common though is our
commitment to our families, our shared faith and our hope to continue growing.
Each member has so much to offer to M.O.M.S. and each in turn has so much to
gain from the others.
M.O.M.S. meets weekly on Friday mornings at from 9:30 – 12:00 in the Conference
room. Nursery is provided for children ages 6 months and older.

you!
Prayer Chain
Contact: Dolores Kremer This spiritual ministry supports those
asking for specific prayers for healing, a death, special intentions or
thanksgiving. Currently members (all are welcome) join the Email or Telephone
Chain.
Phone Chain Members pray and forward the prayer requests received to the next
available person on the list as soon as possible. Membership has grown to over
fifty. The frequency of the calls varies and takes only a few minutes of a
member’s time. There are no meetings.
The Prayer Chain has expanded its ministry by creating an Email Chain. Members
on this chain receive prayer requests by email and then pray for the petitions.
To participate in this Email Chain, send your request to join using
this form. The form can be used by people wanting to join either e-mail or phone chains.
Prayer Chain Members keep all petition prayers confidential. Members’ commitment
to this confidentiality is continually appreciated. To send your petition,
please choose one of the forms below:
Confidential Standard Petition - Prayed for by Prayer Chain members only. The
name of the person prayed for will NOT be read at Holy Mass.
Petition for Parishioners - Serious illness or death - The name of the
parishioner or their family member being prayed for will be mentioned at Holy
Mass for only one weekend and prayed for by Prince of Peace Prayer Chain
members.

Christians in Action Committee
Contact: Sherree Wright The
mission of the Christians in Action Committee is to transform its concern about
poverty and injustice into commitment and action on the parish level; to
challenge the faith community and provide an environment for conversion and
social responsibility; and to develop an educational program to inform the
community about human needs and social issues.
The function of the Christians in Action team is to provide the opportunity for
prayer, study and action on issues in our community and the world that do not
agree with the Gospel and the Church's teachings on charity and social justice.
The team provides benevolent services to those in need, but its goal is to work
for structural change, addressing root causes of injustice and poverty.
The Christians in Action meetings are held at the church on the first week of
the month. All parishioners are welcome to join.

generate a greater awareness for Prince of Peace and its ministries in the
